Bergen Orgelsommer - Svensk orgelvirtuos spiller i Johanneskirken

Robert Bennesh (Sverige)

Robert Bennesh is Director of Music and Cathedral Organist at Lund Cathedral, Sweden. He graduated with an Artist Diploma from Yale University in 2015 where he was a student of prof. Thomas Murray. Prior to his studies at Yale Robert received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in church music from the Malmö Academy of Music and The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen where he studied organ performance with, among others, professors Hans Fagius, Bine Bryndorf, Hans Hellsten and Anders Johnsson. While at Yale, Robert served as the organ scholar at Christ Church Episcopal in New Haven, and was fortunate to become well acquainted with Anglican music and liturgy. He is now proud to bring these traditions to Lund Cathedral. Robert is an active recitalist and frequently performs along with a variety of chamber music settings as well as playing orchestral parts with the Malmö Symphony. He is the recipient of scholarships from The Swedish Royal Academy of Music, Pro Fide et Christianismo, and The Swedish Organ Society. At Yale Robert was awarded with “The Julia R. Sherman Memorial prize, for excellence in organ playing” and “The Mary Baker Scholarship in Organ Accompanying” and “The Richard Paul deLong prize”.
